Textriva is a free web tool that helps you turn images and PDF pages into text using Google Lens. This page explains what data the app handles.
What stays on your device
Your pages (images), the text you paste, notes and settings are stored in your own browser (IndexedDB / localStorage). We do not have a database and we cannot see this data.
Google sign-in and Google Drive (optional)
If you choose to sign in, Textriva asks for the drive.file permission only. This lets the app create and open only the files it created itself in your Google Drive (a folder named “Textriva” with page images, project.json and text.txt). It cannot see your other Drive files. Your Google access token is kept in your browser's memory and is not sent to our servers. You can delete the Textriva folder in Drive or revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions at any time. Textriva's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Temporary image upload for Google Lens
To open a page in Google Lens, the page image is sent through Textriva's server function (/api/upload) to the image host imgbb, which creates a temporary public link (set to expire in about 30 minutes). Google Lens then reads the image from that link. Anyone who has the link could view the image until it expires, so please do not upload highly confidential documents. We do not keep copies of your images on our server.
Optional offline OCR
If you use the optional Auto-OCR, language data is downloaded from a public server and the recognition runs inside your browser; your image is not sent anywhere for this feature.
What we do not do
No advertising, no analytics trackers, no selling or sharing of your data. Hosting providers (Vercel / Cloudflare) may keep standard technical request logs.
Your choices
You can delete projects from the Library, clear your browser data, delete the Drive folder, or revoke Google access whenever you wish. For questions or deletion requests, email us (below).
গোপনীয়তা নীতি (সংক্ষেপে)
আপনার ছবি, text ও সেটিং আপনার নিজের browser-এই থাকে। Google Drive-এ sign in করলে শুধু drive.file অনুমতি নেওয়া হয়, অর্থাৎ app শুধু নিজের বানানো “Textriva” ফোল্ডারের ফাইল দেখতে পারে, আপনার অন্য Drive ফাইল নয়। Google Lens খোলার জন্য পেজের ছবি সাময়িকভাবে (প্রায় ৩০ মিনিট) imgbb-তে public লিংকে আপলোড হয়, তাই অতি গোপনীয় কাগজ আপলোড করবেন না। আমরা কোনো বিজ্ঞাপন, tracker বা ডেটা বিক্রি করি না। যেকোনো সময় Library থেকে project মুছে, Drive ফোল্ডার মুছে বা Google অনুমতি বাতিল করে আপনার ডেটা সরাতে পারেন।
